So Long For Now

I've found that I'm more likely to use places like tumblr, facebook, instagram and the newest addition to the cosplay community cosplayamino when it comes to posting my work and works in progress. I decided to get rid of my core membership seeing as I'm not on here as much anymore and I'm unsure if I will continue to post photos here anymore. I'll be leaving my account up and I'll check in from time to time but if you really wanna follow me you'll find me under the username MishaCosplay and/or Misha Cosplay on the previously mentioned platforms. I hope everyone keeps having fun and doing what they love here. I just don't log on very often anymore so I figured I would let you all know so my absence doesn't seem odd. I still appreciate all the kindness, constructive criticism and support you all have given me! I wish you all the best!

Hi guys! Just doing a quick update to fill you all it!
Cosplay Related News!
I'm hoping to go to a few conventions in Minnesota this fall which ones? You'll have to wait and see because they are far from being on my official convention list at this time.
EriePie (my lovely partner in cosplay crime) and I have finally done a small photoshoot. We chose to do a casual sailor scout photoshoot if you follow my facebook, instagram or tumblr you would have already seen some sneak preview photos but if not you will see the edited photos soon. (links to our social media sites will be listed below.) We also did a few makeup tests for some characters from Clamp's CardCaptor Sakura. We are hoping to have some costumes from that series done sometime this summer.
As for any other photoshoots I'm hoping to have a school uniform Sailor scout photoshoot sometime this summer and maybe a RWBY photoshoot as well. I'm unsure if we will do Pyrrha and Nora or if we will be doing Sun and Neptune but I will be pushing for at least one of those to happen soon.
I still have yet to receive photos from our Sun and Neptune shoot from Katsucon but my friends semester of school has ended so I'm hoping she has more free time now to finish those up. I'm still super excited about those photos and can't wait to see how they turned out.
Personal News!
My b-day is this month and I will be turning 25! Yay! Yet that isn't the biggest event this month for me. No, the biggest event is my good friend Mary's wedding that will be happening 10 days after my b-day! As I've stated before I am a bridesmaid and I couldn't be more happy for or excited about this wedding! So for the next few weeks leading up to the wedding I'll be super extra busy! I'm freaking out this is just going to be so amazing! Mary is the first person in my tight-knit group of friends from high school to be getting married and that just makes it feel even bigger and more important that it already is! I'm so glad I can be a part of something like this and I'll be wishing her and her fiance all the best!

I'm hoping to go to a few conventions in Minnesota this fall which ones? You'll have to wait and see because they are far from being on my official convention list at this time.
EriePie (my lovely partner in cosplay crime) and I have finally done a small photoshoot. We chose to do a casual sailor scout photoshoot if you follow my facebook, instagram or tumblr you would have already seen some sneak preview photos but if not you will see the edited photos soon. Super quick update cuz life is boring...
Cosplay News!
I finished Elsa's shoes and I'm still playing with my serger so the Elsa cape and skirt isn't done yet. I just wanna make sure I know all the ins and outs of my new machine before I attempt to work on my costumes. The last thing I need is to totally screw up on something that I can't afford to replace. (Like the cape... cuz that was expensive as heck!) I'm still planning to work on Princess Hilda from zelda next and of course I'm gathering materials for Weiss from RWBY. EriePie and I are getting together in the next week or so to work on some stuff. I also wanna set up a day for a nice photoshoot with her. I'm thinking school uniform Usagi and Ami would be a fun one since we both have the costumes and It is spring right now so we could get some pretty flowers in the photos and such. ^^
Real Life News!
I'm waiting on some callbacks for a couple jobs so yeah that is where I'm at with that. Wedding planning is going well. I think I mentioned this before but my friend is having a Legend of Zelda themed wedding so we've been coming up with some fun ideas for the center pieces and such. We already have the bouquets done so that's just another thing to check off the list. The wedding is in June meaning we are so close we can pretty much taste it and I feel like the pressure is mounting for my friend. I'm trying my best to be there for her and keep the stress levels down. I also finally found a pair of shoes that I like to go with my dress, it feels sooooo good not to have to worry about that anymore.
My boyfriend and I ran into some car trouble recently and now we have to get a new car. Lucky for us we found something in our price range that we both can agree on. Its a used car of course. (like we could afford something new...) but the miles are super low and it also gets great mileage. I never thought about cars as much as I have been and now I feel better informed about them. I still don't know much but I can understand a bit better when the conversation turns to cars.
The final bit of awesome news is May 10 was our anniversary. My boyfriend and I have been together for 7 years and I find that to be an amazing thing. I honestly forget how long we've been together half the time so looking back makes me appreciate the time we have spent together and that makes me happy.
Okay enough of the sappy stuff! I hope everyone is doing well! Thank you all for sticking with me!

April! Spring has finally sprung!

Hey everyone! This will be split into the usual categories so just skip around to whatever most interests you! And with that lets get started!
Cosplay and Conventions!
As of right now, I have no other conventions on my list due to lack of funds! If anything changes I'll let you know! On to costume progress! I'm almost finished with my Ice Queen Elsa cosplay that I've been working on for what seems like forever! I started getting my supplies for this costume back in 2014...yeah I'm really taking my time with this one. haha... anyway I just need to sew up the shirt, finish the cape/train, fix up the wig and make my shoes look all pretty and Ice-like then I shall be done! My next project will be Princess Hilda or at least that's what I'm thinking for right now. I'm also planning to start slowly gathering materials for Weiss Schnee from RWBY. EriePie and I are planning to have Ruby and Weiss done for Katsucon 2016. Now to talk about more photos from Kautsucon 2015. My friend has gotten a new computer and is planning to work on editing our photos soon. She is going to school and I know that finals will be a thing in the near future for her so I don't plan to push too hard for the pictures. When I get them I get them and that is all that matters. I will get off my lazy bum and post some more photos that EriePie and myself took within the week! Lastly I got my taxes back and used a small amount to get myself something I've wanted for a while now, a serger! so now I will be able to make all my seams look sooooooo much cleaner and prettier! Yay!
Real Life! (run away!)
Not much is happening right now in the real world. I've been busy looking for a job and helping my friend with her wedding. She is getting married in June and I am part of the wedding party so I've been a little busy helping her out with everything. Wedding planning is a very stressful but interesting experience. I'm not sure how people can do it for a living. I'm guessing the stress isn't on as harshly when its not your own or someone you know's wedding. But yeah that's whats been going on with me lately.

It's March already?!

Hey guys sorry I haven't been super active here over the past week or so but I hope you all like the photos from Katsucon that I have posted so far. I'm still waiting on some more photos from a friend of mine and sadly I'll be waiting longer than ususal. Her computer has broken down and she is low on funds so I'm unsure when it will be fixed in the mean time though I will continue to post more photos that I do have from the convention. (just keep in mind it may take a while seeing as I don't have a lot of editing time on my hands.)
Personal Life talk! (skip if you wish I hold no ill will if you do.)
I am still looking for a new job and I'll admit that I have been pretty picky and honestly a little apprehensive about finding a new job. I know that no job is going to be perfect and it won't always be a piece of cake but I've had some horrible experiences. The last job I held was one I truly believed I could do and when it all blew up in my face I came down with a slight case of depression and anxiety over it. I'm just afraid I will never be comfortable with a job again and that is what has made my search slow down in the past couple months and I really wasn't sure if anyone would understand. Luckily for me my boyfriend and his family have been supportive and have been giving me all the time I need to find something I am comfortable with. Now I'm starting to feel like I'm ready to take the next step to really finding a job despite the fact that those fears are still there. I know this is becoming a long roller coaster ride of a journal but sometimes you just need to get stuff off your chest. I'm hoping to get a job in the next couple of months and start becoming more financially stable again. My goal is to at least start saving up to get a place of my own for I feel the responsibility of living will help me straighten out my life. Who knows maybe it will help push me to accomplish some of my dreams which seem soooo far off these days. All I do know is I need to take that first step no matter how frightening it may all seem. Cosplay talk!
I still plan making costumes! They will be few and far between for I would like to save my money a bit. The costumes I will be finishing are ones that I've had the materials for but have been a bit slow on finishing. Like Elsa, Hilda and Starfire. I also plan on making a few new Kigurumi designs as well because I had a blast making Baymax and I want to make a few more. Possibly even start selling a few in the future? I'm not completely sure about that last bit but if its going to happen I'll keep you all posted! Anyway, Thats about all I can say about cosplay this time around and until I get a job I'm unsure if I'll be going to another convention this year. We shall see what happens when the time comes. ^^
